Thymus Vulgaris 100gr

Description

DESCRIPTION    Thyme is a thin shrubby plant with a height of 10-30 cm. Its branches are small and woody, while its leaves are 4-10 mm long. Its flowers are 3-7 mm long and pink or lilac. All parts of the plant have a pleasant aromatic smell and taste. From the plant we use blooming branches, although botanists prefer small leaves. It is native and we meet it in Mediterranean countries. It is grown as a plant in a pot and as a medicinal plant. In Greece it is well known for his aroma but also for his numerous healing properties.

IN ANCIENT TIMES   In antiquity it was called “thymus”, a word that comes from the verb “sacrifice” because people used to burn its branches in sacrifices in honor of the gods.   Hippocrates mentions that thyme eliminates the phlegm.
